Courtland Hanley & Elyssa Ellis- Podcast "Relationships In College"
Podcast Assignment - Relationships in College
Relationships are a very important aspect of life that can help an individual grow socially and psychologically. They can be long, wonderful, and supportive events that could last nearly a lifetime. Relationships can also be devestatating, changing a person forever. A key timeframe regarding relationships is the late teen-mid twenties age bracket, a time when many people are in college.
There are many pros and cons to relationships on college, and thus many different opinions on them. As far as pros go, maybe the biggest one is the immediacy of a partner on (or near) your campus. Having someone physically and emotionally right there for you is an amazing feeling during a strong relationship. While the statistic claiming 90% of people marry their high school sweetheart is a bit far-fetched, many people do marry their high school sweetheart, and plenty of others find love in college or graduate school. It's easy to find compatability during college, especially within your major. If you're in the same major as someone, you're likely in it because you have similiar interests - something that's key to any healthy relationship. Another reason college may help you find a healthy relationship is the fact that many students change and truly find themselves as they move out on their own into the real world. Being on your own helps one find themself more, and once you accept yourself for who truly are, it's easier to accept someone else, and perhaps engage in a relationship. These exact changes can also be the very reason a relationship goes sour.
Change can strain a relationship, because not everyone handles change well. Many people experience their worst heartbreak around this age. As school and work begin to take over a student's life, it leaves less time for a social life and significant others. Another reason relationships don't work is long distance. If partners go to different schools, they lose that immediacy, and trust becomes an issue. Even if you trust your partner, it's a different thing to trust the hundreds of people around them for months at a time. Also, alcohol always lowers inhibitions, and people do things the normally wouldn't (or use alcohol as an excuse to do something they want to do but shouldn't.)
For those who seek alternatives to relationships, those are available, especially in the college atmosphere. "Friends with benefits" is the most popular alternative, but often becomes complicated and messy. Friends with benefits generally consists of all of the physical perks of a relationship, without the emotional attachment. However, it's difficult to keep things strictly physical; eventually time spent together leads to feelings, and complications arise. Some people may want to avoid friends with benefits though, as that can generally lead to a distasteful reputation, epsecially for the female involved.
The college years have the potential to be the best years of your life. Finding (or sustaining) a relationship throughout these years can be a big factor in how well those years go, and if it lasts, how the rest of your life goes. Relationships also have the potential to ruin part of that experience. Everyone has different tastes when it comes to relationships in college, but there are different options, and hopefully most people find something that works for them.

Blog Critique

1.What you like and dislike about the blog?
I liked that the blog had so many pictures on it. It wasn't just wedding photos either there were photos of engagements taken as well as dogs too. The wedding pictures were by far my favorite it made it seem as if you were actually at the wedding and the background of the blog was also very simple so you paid more attention to the photographs. What I didn't like about the blog was the fact that there wasn't too much about the blog. How the blog is written under the different posts doesn't say much about each picture so some of the photos. You actually have to click on the blog you want to see for more information about that specific wedding and then it brings you to another website so you can get more information. It also brings you to other blogs if you click on some of the other links which is something I like.
2. How often is it updated?
It is updated sometimes a few times in a month it looks like every time they do a shoot the photos are posted some of them even have Vimeo videos on them.
3.Whether the comments indicate anyone is reading it.
There are comments on some of the blogs there aren't hundreds of comments just a few comments on every blog. Some of the events that were photographed have more comments on them.
4. What media elements beyond text does it use?
The blog uses photographs and some video. Throughout the entire blog there really isn't much writing compared to the amount of photographs. The blog also has other links so you can look at other photography. They also have a section on every blog post that makes it so you can share it to a whole number of places.

Charges To Face After
Bear Hunting Gone Wrong
The Vermont state police and department of fish and game
have finished their investigation on a hunting related shooting that happened October
20th.
Conrad Masse, age 76 was charged with aggravated assault after
shooting Wayne Goff, age 58 while bear hunting together.
The police concluded that Masse was driving his truck when
he let Goff out of his truck. Masse continued to drive his truck over five
hundred feet where he waited for the bear.
The bear crossed the road in between Masse and Goff. Masse
opened fire and shot three times one hitting the bear, one hitting a tree, and
one hitting Goff in the midsection and in the pelvic area.
Goff was transported to North Country and later to Dartmouth
Hitchcock medical center. He has been released from the hospital and is in stable
condition.
He was also issued fish and game tickets for
shooting from the road, having a loaded rifle in his vehicle, and not having proper
display of permits for the bear hounds.

Process to "Pimp" My Blog
I have never used Blogger before so the first thing I did was go to Google and searched how to personalize your Blogger.
I then went in and picked a background but after just clicking around on Blogger for awhile I found even more backgrounds that were all funky colors. So I picked the purple and blue background and decided that stuck out enough.
After picking the background I decided to change the fonts for everything as well as the color of the font so it would be pink and purple to still stand out.
I decided I wanted to add some pictures to my blog too so I sent some pictures from my phone to my email and grabbed some from my Facebook as well. The pictures on my blog are of my family and majority of them were from Las Vegas.
I tried going through all of the different options to figure out what each one did. I chose purples and pinks because those are my favorite colors and put pictures of my family, my friends, vacations, and sports.
