The bear crossed the road in between Masse and Goff. Masse opened fire and shot three times one hitting the bear, one hitting a tree, and one hitting Goff in the midsection and in the pelvic area.

Goff was transported to North Country and later to Dartmouth Hitchcock medical center. He has been released from the hospital and is in stable condition.
